Question:
Could you please let me know if the Viola plant is edible? I bought some seedlings for the nursery school and they caught my eye, I seem to think that they are but am not sure.
Answer:
The Viola plant is edible, but not very palatable. The flowers are however a colourful addition to the salad bowl and not that bad tasting either.
As our culinary habits become more adventurous the edible flowers such as viola's, Calendula and Bellis perennis gives us a range of colours and textures to delight our diners.

Hi, I just looked up edible pansy and came across your site.
So you can surely eat the viola and pansy. It sounds strange to me.
I am interested in the pansy/viola curing my Varicose veins as I read that someplace.
QUESTION; Do you know this to be TRUE?? If so how much do you eat and how long will it take.
Thank you so much!
Amy
